VoIP (Voice Over IP) Phone Services Review: Which VoIP Phone System Services Are Best For Your Home Or Small Business?
If you are not already aware, the term VoIP is an acronym for "Voice over Internet Protocol". The technology used to power VoIP is essentially collecting an analog audio signal and converting it into a digital signal that can then be streamed via data networks and re-interpreted at the destination. The VoIP is an internet phone that will allow you to call anybody, anywhere, even internationally, as long as your recipient has a valid phone number!
There are many voice over ip service providers that are currently marketing and offering multitudes of different sized plans and services to the residential and the small business markets. Sometimes finding a service provider that is coupled with the best services, the most reliable equipment, and the lowest price can be quite the daunting task.
That is exactly why I have written this quick guide and compiled several reviews to help you navigate through the jungle of VoIP services and providers. In order to save you some valuable time and money, please make a note of the voip service providers below and which ones might be the best fit for your own personal situation.
There are two ways to go about using a VoIP service.
The first way is to use free software to make video and digital voice calls.
The first one of these free service providers that comes to my mind is Skype. You can go directly to the skype website and you will be able to download their software. After the download is complete, you are free to use Skype to video call and VoIP call anyone with whom you have shared contact details with through Skype. Skype requires that you have an internet connection and a minimum download speed in order to maintain high call quality. There are paid versions of Skype that offer more bells and whistles, but for now I just use Skype for quick impersonal and short calls.
The second way is to purchase a monthly paid VoIP service provider. I have personally been a big fan of the paid digital VoIP service. I find that when you are paying for a digital phone system, the quality of the calls and the clarity of the conversations are far and away a much better experience and they offer a much greater value than a free service. Most providers also offers many digital VoIP features that other service providers do not. Including but not limited to:
• Unlimited calling within the U.S. and to Canada, including 70 international countries and territories
• Low calling rates to hundreds of international destinations not included with your calling plan
• Option to transfer your existing phone number or get a a new phone number
• All the traditional calling features like Voice Mail, Call Waiting, Caller ID and more!
It is clear that there are many advantages to using a digital VoIP instead of a hard wired land line. One of those benefits is that you will almost undoubtedly be saving a bundle of cash when you switch to a digital VoIP phone service provider from your traditional land line telecom service. The average savings for people who switch are catalyzing a rapidly expanding and changing marketplace. The way that the world is communicating has changed again, and I suspect we shall see much more to come in the future.
I hope that this article was helpful to you in some way, and I hope that you do find what you're looking for in the way of digital VoIP service providers.
